Happy Flag Day

In my hometown, the city started a few years ago, a way to honor the soldiers from our town.  Families purchase a flag and it is set up every year in may and stays up through July 4th (I think).  They are truly magnificent and make the otherwise sad cemetery beautiful.  Especially when the wind blows.

They line 4 streets and each have a plaque with the soldiers name, rank, branch, birth year, and the year they passed away.  It really is a beautiful sight to see.

I believe that this is a great way to honor the soldiers and that every soldier deserves their own flag.

This one is my grandpa's.

Happy Flag Day!
