Happy Monday readers!
I am in a pretty good mood today. I woke up on time, which actually seems early and got to work early, got a lot done in my first hour at the office, and now I am blogging! Yay me!
Let's dive right into the weekend....
Friday: Friday evening was spent with Mom watching Oprah on the DVR, pizza for dinner, and some mother/daughter time. Not a whole lot on Friday.
Saturday: I woke up kind of early and cleaned the house while Mom sunbathed outside with the dogs. We received a phone call from a friend of hers and her daughter (we were friends in school) to meet up at the local winery for some wine. We got there around 2 pm and didn't leave until a little after 6 pm. There was a really good live bad that played nice background music and the weather was gorgeous! It was sunny and in the seventies with a breeze. Absolutely gorgeous! I ran into an old employee of mine and gave her my card because I have a position open now and she actually called me that night!
After the winery, we continued the party with dinner and drinks and just had a ball! We are invited back to my friends place in KC anytime and I can't wait to go again. I missed hanging out with her and we were able to talk like we never missed anything. Mom and I didn't get home until a little after 10 pm. She went to bed after about 30 minutes, and I stayed up another hour to play with the dogs. Dad was gone for the weekend, so they didn't get to play much that day.
Sunday: I took my mom and grandma out to lunch and we had a good time too. The food was good and the conversations were great and I really enjoyed my time with the two most important women in my life. After lunch, we went to the supermarket for basics and I was hoping that the cute guy at the meat counter would be in because I actually looked cute with my hair curled, but alas, her wasn't in. Bummer.
When we got home, I did some ironing for my mom (which I never do because I am not as good as her). I ironed for about an hour and a half and only got 20 pieces done, but it got the basket down a little bit. We had over a month's worth of ironing in the basket. I also baked a cake for dessert at Mrs. P's house. It ended up just being us, her sister didn't make it, but we had a good time like always. The kids were playing outside, the husband was doing laundry, and she and I were cooking dinner. We all sat down to eat and had good conversation. Then, we broke out the Trivial Pursuit and she and I both lost big time (again) to Mr. P. His head is full of useless and random knowledge. I finally made it home around 10 pm.
I had a great weekend and I am so glad that the weather was nice. What did you do for the weekend? Did you remember Mother's Day?
